The route to Hjørundfjord follows the same waterways once navigated by Emperor Wilhelm himself – out through Storfjorden, past the remote village of Trandal with its famous fjord swing, and deep into the Hjørundfjord as the mountains close in around you. It ends near Union Øye, one of Norway's most storied hotels, at the head of the valley. Half a day on the water, entirely your own.
